{"id":27040,"date":"2026-01-15T17:18:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T22:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uusj.net\/wp1\/?p=27040"},"modified":"2026-01-15T17:22:27","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T22:22:27","slug":"constitutional-concealed-carry-reciprocity-act-of-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uusj.net\/wp1\/constitutional-concealed-carry-reciprocity-act-of-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Please call your Federal Lawmakers and ask them to oppose the &#8220;Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act&#8221; (H.R.38\/S.65).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This request comes in solidarity with the UU Legislative Ministry of Maryland, i.e., the UU State Action Network-Maryland, which is profoundly concerned about state sovereignty &amp; autonomy in determining gun safety policies for public safety.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">If passed, the bill would:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">Create a federal mandate overriding the gun laws in various states (21 states, including Maryland)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Require states with strong conceal standards to respect or, in effect, adopt those with weak or no standards at all.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">Any state that has opted to promote pro-active, responsible gun ownership and protect public safety, using strong standards, should be alarmed. Those who have elected to provide local law enforcement with the legal tools needed to enforce that state&#8217;s specific gun laws and norms should be wary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Our UU shared values of interdependence, pluralism, justice, and equity all require us to care about and to care for each other.
