Write Now!<\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uusj.net\/wp1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/FINAL-Cover-Letter-Instructions-WHWN-April-2019-2.pdf\"> <strong>&#8220;Dear Climate Justice Activists &#8212; Cover Letter &amp; Instructions\u201d<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0&#8211; a summary of the letter-writing campaign and mailing instructions. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uumfe.org\/2019\/03\/27\/whwn\/\">Link to return to the UUMFE letter-writing landing page.<\/a>\u00a0See #3 below for the WHWN handout.)<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct your <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><em>Write Here! Write Now!<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(<\/span>WHWN) letter-writing event one or two times <strong>between Sunday April 7 &#8211; May 5.<\/strong> Consider offering letter writing on two Sundays (only about 25% of most congregation members attend on any given Sunday). <strong>Letters must be received on or before Thursday, May 9.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Download this <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uusj.net\/wp1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/WHWN-Letter-Log-Form-Earth-Month-2019.pages.pdf\"><em>Write Here! Write Now!<\/em> (WHWN) Letter-Writing Log Form<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and include it in your mailing packet.<\/li>\n<li>Mail letters to be received on or before Thursday, May 9, 2019. The mailing address is in the Cover Letter &amp; Instruction document above. Letters will be delivered by the UUSJ Capitol Hill Advocacy Corps on May 14. If you are a current WHWN letter-writing partner, you can submit letters as you normally would. Please also use the Letter Log Form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Write Now!<\/em> Letter-Writing Toolkit<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>for tips on organizing a WHWN letter-writing event.<\/p>\n<p><b>3<\/b>.<b>\u00a0<\/b><strong style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Tell Your Senators to Address the Climate Crisis&#8221;<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uusj.net\/wp1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/v.1F-WHWN-2019-05-14-climate-change-handout-as-of-2019-04-01.pdf\"> WHWN\u00a0Handout<\/a><\/strong><strong style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0for your writing tables<\/strong> &#8211; a one-page, two-sided handout. The handout includes: background on the issue and legislative update, talking points, suggested questions to ask and a sample letter. Make it intergenerational. Involve children and youth<\/strong> &#8211; teach them about living out our 5th and 7th Principles: Make this an intergenerational family friendly event. Set up letter-writing tables where the children and youth are. Ask your RE leaders to discuss issues on your letter-writing Sunday about protecting our environment with younger children, and climate change issues with the youth. Give them an opportunity to write letters or draw pictures. They can make a greeting card and everyone can sign it.
