\"\"Day 9 – The Numbers That Tell the Story \u2014 And the Ones That Never Will<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Dear friends,<\/p>\n

As we near the end of our 10-for-10 celebration \u2014 just one day left! \u2014 today we reflect on the numbers that help tell the story of UUSJ’s evolution, and the ones that point to deeper, less visible impact.<\/p>\n

31 to 9<\/strong>: UUSJ intentionally restructured\u2014from a 31?member regional, federation?style board to a nimble national board of nine\u2014positioning the organization for greater clarity and impact.<\/span><\/p>\n

16 years:<\/strong> The version of UUSJ we know today began in 2010, when the UUA closed its Washington Office, sparking a new era of UU justice engagement in DC.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 Actions of Immediate Witness<\/strong>: Since 2018, UUSJ volunteers have helped advance and pass four Actions of Immediate Witness (AIW) at the UUA General Assembly \u2014 on voter suppression, medical debt, DACA and Dreamers, boycott rights, inherent worth and inalienable rights, policing, authoritarianism, and asylum. Each was shaped by volunteers, partners, congregations, and coalitions working together. What’s more, we\u2019ve endorsed or helped draft additional AIWs as well.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n

But some numbers will never be fully captured: the Hill staffers quietly shaped by our tradition, the congregations using UUSJ materials to inform and mobilize UUs around the country, the countless conversations in which UU values shift a policymaker’s perspective.<\/p>\n

As a Board, we are grateful for Pablo, and for every volunteer, every partner, every congregation, and every donor who has helped build this legacy.<\/p>\n
