{"id":16725,"date":"2016-12-01T12:10:36","date_gmt":"2016-12-01T17:10:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uusj.net\/wp1\/?page_id=16725"},"modified":"2019-08-23T09:30:04","modified_gmt":"2019-08-23T13:30:04","slug":"escalating-inequality-task-group","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uusj.net\/wp1\/escalating-inequality-task-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Congregational Study Action Issues Resources Page"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Congregational Study Action Issues (CSAI) Resources<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uua.org\/statements\/current\/corruption-of-our-democracy\">2016-2020 CSAI <strong>The Corruption of Our Democracy\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uua.org\/sites\/live-new.uua.org\/files\/corruption_democracy_study_guide.pdf\">Study Guide<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 2016-2020 UUA Congregational Study Action Issue (CSAI) on The Corruption of Our Democracy Study Guide is available now, with a March 1 deadline for general comments on the Study Guide, the potential for congregational engagement for the issue, and the direction being taken by the UU Association.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uua.org\/economic\/escalatinginequality\">2014-2018 CSAI <strong>Escalating Inequality<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uua.org\/economic\/escalatinginequality\/escalating-inequality\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Statement Of Conscience<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Task Group\u2019s review of the UUA draft Statement of Conscience on Escalating Inequality has been completed and disseminated to all area congregations. The group assessed the strengths and weaknesses of the draft, then developed <a href=\"https:\/\/uusj.net\/wp1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Escalating-Inequality-SOC-Comments-v1-2-final.pdf\">specific and detailed recommendations<\/a> for area congregations to consider in preparing their formal response to the UUA by the February 1 deadline. By press time, several congregations had already submitted responses, including Accotink UU Church, All Souls Church, Unitarian, UU Church of Arlington, and the UU Congregation of Fairfax.<\/p>\n<h2>Upcoming Escalating Inequality Task Group Meetings<\/h2>\n<p><em>Sunday, March 5, 7:00-8:00pm<\/em><br \/>\nMeeting will be held online, via Zoom. He explained how his family history of wealth informed his perspective for his new book, <i>Born on Third Base<\/i>.
