CASA In-Person Voter Registration (South-Central Pennsylvania)

The voter registration deadline in Pennsylvania is October 11 so the timeline is short. CASA is on a push to register people in Dauphin (home of Harrisburg), Lancaster, and York Counties in South-Central PA.

Consider organizing a group to go to this beautiful area to participate in site-based and door-knocking voter registration activities. CASA needs volunteers every day so, if another day before October 11 works for your group, that’s fine, too. Spanish skills are always a plus but they are really working to register a wide swath of voters in three counties so they can definitely use people who don’t speak Spanish.

To schedule your group for this activity, contact Kim Propeack, kpropeack@wearecasa.org, 240-491-5729 (office), 301-379-7461 (cell). If you are interested in volunteer for partisan activities run by CASA in Action, let Kim know when you contact her.

Monday, October 3

CASA Phonebank (to follow up on voter registration letters)

5:30-8:30pm
CASA Headquarters, 8151 15th Ave., Langley Park, MD 20783

CASA delivered hundreds of thousands of vote by mail letters to potential voters in NOVA and South-Central PA. Phone bankers will call a subset of that group to remind them to fill out the voter registration form and put it in the mail.

Trip to Raleigh/Durham, NC – Reeb Voting Rights Project

Register

The Reeb Voting Rights Project is going to Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, to partner with the UU Fellowship of Raleigh and Eno River UU Fellowship in Durham to reach out to voters in the Raleigh/Durham area and make sure they are able to participate in the fall election. With all the rapid changes taking place in the North Carolina rules and procedures, talking directly to voters is critical to avoid the kind of misinformation that can reduce turnout and participation. This opportunity is open to UU congregations.

North Carolina Mega Phone Bank

10:00am-2:30pm; two shifts 10:00am-12:00pm and 12:30-2:30pm
All Souls Church, Unitarian, Washington, DC
RSVP as an individual
To schedule your group for these activities, contact ASCVotingRights@gmail.com

Join UUs from the D-M-V for a massive phone bank at All Souls! Volunteers will call voters in North Carolina in order to increase turnout. Research shows that these calls make a significant impact, because we can help people identify their polling place and make a plan to vote! These are generally very positive calls, because we’re helping people get info they want, not trying to change their mind about a political candidate. Plus we’ll make it fun with games and food and the chance to get to know other UUs from the area.
