More than ever, it is time for UUs to come together to work for the progressive changes that we seek in our struggle to make our country just and peaceful.   To back this effort, Unitarian Universalists for Social Justice, a 17 UU Congregation strong regional alliance will host a reception on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 4:30-6:30 PM at River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

The purpose of this pivotal event is two-fold.

One, to celebrate the success and raise the funds necessary to support UUSJ advocacy and especially the success of the UUSJ Capitol Hill Advocacy Corps. UUSJ’s all-volunteer Advocacy Corps visits Capitol Hill each month, every second Tuesday, amplifying UU voices and reflecting UU values on issues of public concern like the environment and climate, immigration, and escalating economic inequity.

Two, to get guidance from Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD), a rising star for social justice in Congress, who is one of the top Democrats on the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees.  He will advise us in our fight for justice.

We must not only resist reactionary policies and laws, but promote those policy changes that our UU principles compel us to achieve.  The time for advocacy action is now. Please mark your calendars to join us for this much needed December 2 UUSJ event.
