Dozens of UU congregations are participating in new sanctuary coalitions and are encouraging other congregations to join. If your congregation is not already participating, you may want to consider doing so. In addition to offering physical sanctuary, congregations can be part of the sanctuary movement by working to stop deportations, and by assisting people in sanctuary and the churches that are providing it.

MetroTeenAIDS can now provide free individual and group therapy sessions to lgbtq youth and young adults who have been victims of crime thanks to a grant from the DC Office of Victim Services.
The Smarter Sentencing Act, introduced in July 2013, is a bipartisan bill that would deal a landmark blow to mass incarceration. The UUA is part of an interfaith coalition urging the Senate to make this bill a priority!
