Wednesday, April 4: ACT to End Racism Rally on the National Mall

  • 7-8 am: AWAKEN – LIGHTING THE WAY

Location: National Mall at 12th Street

  • 7:00 am Drumbeat for Justice Silent Walk

Location: MLK Memorial to the Mall. Gather west of the MLK Memorial at the polo fields, near the MLK bookstore

  • 8-9 am: Interfaith Service AWAKEN – PREPARING OUR HEARTS

Location: 12th St Stage at the Mall

  • 9-3 pm: Rally and Call to Commitment

Location: Mall (14th St & 12th St between Madison Dr. NW & Jefferson Dr. SW)

 

Thursday, April 5: Day of Action and Advocacy (register here). Advocacy topics include Criminal Justice and Jobs.

  • 8:30-11:00 am: Training – Issue Platform Briefing and How to Do Effective Legislative Visits

Location: Historic Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 400 D St. SE

  • 11:00-5:00: Visit Your Congressional Leaders. For legislative visits we expect participants to make their own appointments. Call 202-224-3121 for both the Senate and the House to make appointments.
  • 1:00-2:30 / 3:00-4:30: Afternoon workshops  (each workshop will be offered twice to accommodate schedules for legislative visits). Workshops: Moral Framing for Action and Advocacy; Tools for Disrupting Racism – Internal Conversation for White People; Finding our Voices – Grassroots Organizing for People Under 18
