Join us… let’s tell our U.S. Senators to address the dangerous greenhouse gas “Super Pollutant” HFCs

The Unitarian Universalists for Social Justice (UUSJ) and the Unitarian Universalists for Ministry for Earth (UUMFE) is hosting this Write Here! Write Now! (WHWN) letter-writing campaign event on 4/24 as a part of the Earth Day Live 2020 interfaith online convergence for climate justice.

Register here for the 4/24 3pmET Letter-Writing Party via Zoom Video Conference to learn more about conducting virtual advocacy and about the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act (AIM) 2019, S.2754.  Now through May 10 (letters due May 14), we are urging our U.S. Senators to pass bipartisan, bicameral legislation that will reduce damaging hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by 85% over 15 years.

Citizen engagement is an essential aspect of our democracy — all the time: Advocacy is particularly important at this moment because special interests may use this time of the COVID-19 to advance their agendas to the detriment of the people and the environment. Our members of Congress need to know we are still paying attention. This is an opportunity to write personal letters (not form letters) will let our policy-makers know how our faith and values compel us to seek a more just, equitable and sustainable world. Make letter-writing a spiritual practice!
