UUSJ signed onto a letter requesting extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti. We were invited by Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) and Interfaith Immigration allies, to join the UUA’s Youth and Young Adults of Color Ministry, the UU College of Social Justice, and several more UU Ministers and social justice Lay Leaders. The effort looks to forestall expiration for vulnerable Haitians whom the US pledged to welcome, and to preserve the intent of TPS as protection when it is unsafe for non-citizens to return home to their countries of national origin.
