Green Souls of All Souls Church, Unitarian at DC Rally to Stop Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL)

On Tuesday, November 15, Green Souls of All Souls Church, Unitarian (Kathy Ferger, Jose Luis Sanchez and Susan Rogers) participated in a sit in and rally in Washington, DC calling on President Obama to instruct the Army Corps of Engineers to revoke the permits for DAPL.

This day of action was part of a broader call to action happening across the country targeting decision makers and stakeholders at every level. By gathering at the Army Corps of Engineers offices across the country, participants hope to call attention to the brave water and land protectors at Standing Rock and encourage President Obama to stop the pipeline. The event, led by indigenous persons from the Sioux Tribe in North Dakota, put forward three demands:

  • Stop the Dakota Access Pipeline project;

  • Address the severe repression being experienced by the water protectors at Standing Rock; and
  • Support full indigenous sovereignty and self-determination.
