UUSJ Immigration Task Group members helped convene and facilitate a meeting between Renato Mendoza of CASA and UU immigration activists from four Montgomery County UU congregations—River Road UU Congregation, UU Congregation of Rockville, UU Church of Silver Spring, and Cedar Lane UU Church—on December 14. Topics covered included: Borderlinks trip to southern Arizona, detention center visitations, CASA services and strategies, expected policies and politics under the new Administration, county and state level opportunities, volunteer needs, and UUSJ Hill visits.
