In Solidarity, We Marched on Washington; Now We Must Fight for UU Values!

UUs from across the country came to Washington, DC on January 21 to march for the inherent worth and dignity of every person alongside about 500,000 other activists. The UU contingent, partially organized by UUSJ and the UUA, was a visible presence and contributed to the energy of solidarity at the historic Women’s March on Washington.

“Even after actor America Ferrera’s speech had ended, her words ‘We are America, and we are here to stay!’ echoed on. I heard it in the chants of ‘This is what democracy looks like,’ ‘Black Lives Matter,’ and ‘Immigrants are welcome here.’ And I felt it deeply as I marched in solidarity with friends and strangers.” – Elizabeth Stevens, UUSJ Administrator

But the march was only the beginning. Now is the time for UUs, in our continued solidarity, to build political will, be active citizens, and make our liberal voice heard on Capitol Hill! Check out the list of opportunities below:
