Undocumented Students

The stories and courage of these students are inspiring. We have heard from several congregations that have hosted DREAMers at their congregations and attended their events, that hearing the ir stories and creating this personal connection has helped move members in their congregations and communities. To find a DREAM organization near you, go to www.dreamactivist.org. If your state is not listed, an immigrants rights organization in your state will most likely be able to connect you with them.

Environmental Speakers from Greater Washington Interfaith Power and Light

If your congregation has some sermon “openings” for later this summer, look to GW-IPL’s Speaker and Program Bureau to fill out the schedule with inspiring messengers who care deeply for Creation. The DC area is blessed with many skilled speakers whose environmental work is rooted in their faith tradition, and with passionate environmental educators who know how to share green skills and enthusiasm with diverse religious groups. Now, we have gathered together a menu of speakers and teachers who are willing to offer guest sermons, text studies, adult forum presentations, youth group programming and skills workshops on green themes in our congregations. Browse a list of the wonderful teachers and preachers who’ve joined our Speaker and Program Bureau. (Requested honorarium for each presenter is listed under each description.) To schedule a speaker for your congregation, or to suggest someone we should invite to join the roster, email us: joelle(at)gwipl.org.
