“I Learn America” is a charming film that tells the stories of 5 teenagers from different countries who attend a high school for recent immigrants in Brooklyn, NY. It is being shown at Cedar Lane as part of the Greater Washington Immigration Film Festival (GWIFF). In addition to the film, Maritza Solano, CASA Community Schools Manager, will speak about 2 similar schools that just opened in Prince George’s County — the International High Schools for English Language Learners. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion, and light refreshments will be provided.
Check out the GWIFF website for more information and a complete list of films.
