Pride Parade

Date: Saturday, June 10
Time: 3:00pm (line-up), 4:30-7:30pm (march)
UU Meet-up Location: Enter the staging area from 23rd from Sheridan Circle or Q Streets and look for the “Standing on the Side of Love” sign. We have requested to march behind PFLAG so if you cannot find the UU contingent directly, look for PFLAG!
Parade Route: Through Dupont Circle and 17th Streets, passes through Logan Circle area and ends on 14th & R Streets. (Starts uphill but then be fairly flat.)
Starting Location: 22nd & P Streets, NW, Washington, DC
Metro: Red Line (Dupont Circle – Q Street Exit)
Ending Location: 14th & R Streets, NW, Washington, DC
Metro: Green Line (U Street/African-Amer Civil War Memorial/Cardozo – 13th Street Exit)

Please wear any UU, Standing on the Side of Love and/or other rainbow paraphernalia. It’s supposed to be in the 90s on Saturday, so please dress for the weather and bring water.

The coordinators will have the STANDING ON THE SIDE OF LOVE sign and that will go first in the parade. Any congregational banners can follow. There will be some beads supplied. Also, we have a donation of some UU Principle posters that will be available to carry.

We are a walking only contingency so please be sure that you are able to walk the two mile parade route unassisted.

Pride Festival

Date: Sunday June, 11, 2017
Festival Exhibit Hours: 12pm – 7pm
Concert Stage Hours: 1pm – 10pm
Location: Pennsylvania Ave., NW, between 3rd and 7th Sts., NW, Washington, DC
Metro: Green (Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter)

The UU Booth is in the RED area with all the other religious organizations by the front. Look for the “Standing on the Side of Love” sign! If you aren’t volunteering but coming to the festival, please stop by and say hello.
Volunteers are still welcome to join us in the booth. We could use some more hands from 11-Noon (set-up) and 3-5pm (staffing the booth). Use the form to sign-up.
