(Pablo) Pavel DeJesús
Executive Director

Pablo has a background in government affairs, having served in the Office of the Governor of Puerto Rico, first at its Planning Board in San Juan, PR then at its Federal Affairs Administration in Washington D.C. Immediately prior to joining UUSJ Pablo consulted with CBOs and non-profits in New York and New Jersey, and worked on issue campaigns in Maryland and Colorado. He has worked on issues such as Vieques, Economic Development, HIV/AIDS, Medicaid/care, Headstart, Census errors, Maryland’s Marriage Equality & Dream Acts, Fracking, Reproductive Rights, Immigration, Arts & Culture, and school partnerships.

Pablo holds a Master in Social Policy from the University of Maryland, School of Public Policy, and a B.A. from Oberlin College. He is also and Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellow. Pablo is a member of All Souls Church, Unitarian in Washington, DC.

Paulette DeMers
Administrative Assistant

Paulette works from and lives in Moorhead, Minnesota, and previously lived in Rochester (MN). She has worked as a graphic designer, communications assistant, and bookkeeper at various non-profit and for-profit organizations for many years.

She actively works in social justice in her community and with her congregation.
