Letters to Secretary of Agriculture Encouraged on Plans for Hydraulic Fracturing in George Washington Forest
Write a letter to protect drinking water and the George Washington National Forest from horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing,
While the initial spill was thought to have been cleaned up, it has now been discovered that a second chemical was involved and further testing and clean up will be necessary for that chemical. Initially, trucks carrying water in bulk, some filled with contaminated water, as well as in bottles, came to various sites. There are now only four sites in the county that remain open with bottled water.
The UNICEF Tap Project is a great way to get involved in global water issues and the work UNICEF is doing to prevent a larger water crisis.
