New this year: a Pride Interfaith Service at 11am the morning of Pride. Many area religious leaders will take part. The guest speaker will be Rev. Frank Schaefer, the former Pennsylvania United Methodist pastor that was defrocked after presiding at the same-sex wedding ceremony of his gay son.

This year, the entire Pride weekend celebration will take place on Mount Royal Avenue, steps away from the Maryland Institute College of Art, the University of Baltimore, and Penn Station! The parade begins at 1 p.m. in Mount Vernon (Charles & Eager Streets), followed by the Block Party at 2 p.m. in Mount Royal.

All students, including those who are LGBT or gender non-conforming, should experience learning at school without the harm or fear of bullying or harassment, and The Safe Schools Improvement Act (SSIA) and Student Non-Discrimination Act (SNDA) both protect children’s well-being at school, delivering an environment where they can learn without discrimination or fear.
